This looks awesome. It may be a horrible game, but I'm totally in love with the visuals and sounds.

Huh? Why do you come to the conclusion that it's a horrible game? It looks flipping great and I'd love to play it! It's visually very unique; mixing graphic style with gameplay usefulness.

Apparently, the only issue is that of AI for the moment : the opponent reacted far too slowly and were far too easy to disarm. The rest is top notch though.

I preferred the more cell shaded style of the intro, but this was one of the few exciting things at E3.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I meant that I know so little about it that apart from looking and sounding good it may suck, for all I know. I fully expect it rock awesomely, though.

Ever since I saw an article about it in Game Informer a while back, I've been really excited. I love parkour, and first-person games, and interesting color palettes, so I can't wait for this game. It really sounds like my thing too -- lots of checkpoints, but tough gameplay. From the previews I've read/heard, you will die a lot in this game, because it does not help you at all with the jumps (which is good, in my book). There's a video of a live demo of the first level.

The graphics look good (with an exception of people it seems) but I got to say I really dislike the visual style. I understand that most people will probably picture a futuristic greatly monitored city to look like that, overly bright and clean, but it doesn't change the fact that I'd still much rather spend 10+ hours* of running and essentially looking at the scenery in a different kind of environment.

Also, I'd imagine that I would be in a terrible hurry most of the time, something I really dislike in most video games. I hate being in a hurry in real life and I hate it even more when I have to make a puppet act humanlike at the same time just so that it can be in a hurry as well.

So yeah, this game might not be for me, but I will definitely check out the demo if there will be one. Hopefully it will prove me wrong.

*based on nothing at all

EDIT: Nice touch on the main pages "Recent forum activity" panel.

It does look good indeed, and I love it for introducing a new kind of action to gaming besides violence. Running away is action too! I'm hoping the fighting will be kept to a minimum, where you take on opponents only when you really have to.

We've only seen the one environment, but that doesn't mean there can't be more later in.

I've loved it since the first trailer was released. Watched it 10 times probably. But I was disappointed when they revealed part of the storyline -- it seemed rather generic, starting with a kidnapped sister or somesuch.

Toblix, did you use that random ASCII character that makes you type backwards or have we entered into Bizarro world?

Mirror's Edge? More like Miles Edgeworth!

I really like the idea of the game, but it's the kind of thing that I'd need to actually try out to really form a good opinion. The videos remind me a lot of Breakdown, which I mostly enjoyed despite an overall feeling of clunkiness and missed ambition. I guess I'm skeptical since I've only ever felt natural platforming in an FPS with the Metroid Prime games. I do like their claim that the game can be beaten without firing a bullet, although that is significantly different than the implication that violence isn't needed (guns vs. fists as opposed to violence vs. pacifism).

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how that works out. The guy said it would be a hard achievement, which sounds to me less like being able to complete say, Fallout, without firing a single bullet and more like being able to complete Super Mario without killing a single enemy. If the game has alternate non-violent solutions more advanced than Splinter Cell's "click left to stab and right to knock out" method, it'll be totally awesome to the max.

Yes, I think he used the unicode (‮‮ mirroring charachter. (

So it affected the text snipped out for the main page.

it's a pity it doesn't affect the whole thread :)

Played the demo, not bad at all. I died about several hundred million times and there were at least two places I got completely stumped, but it's a nice game. Graphics, style and the first person movement and interaction with the world seems just 'right'. The way both hands come up to push up against a fence for example but individually drop depending on what way you turn/look. It's all very Matrix'y, running around and smashing open doors open at full speed. Whether the gameplay is varied enough over the course of the full game, who knows, but the demo is promising.

I am the owner of the 'bound to disappoint' and 'hype' tags, so this was a surprise.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. I've been down on many new games for ages, not really finding anything to hold my interest at all - but this looks fun. Unfortunately, my bandwidth limit has been hit, so I have to wait until tomorrow :fart:
