wvM71TmkR Posted October 16, 2010 There's a new The Hives album out. Not exactly convinced this is a good record yet. You can listen to it here if you want. thanks for making my day good one
Snooglebum Posted October 16, 2010 Anybody who likes electronic music should immediately check out Trentemøller. Don't be discouraged by the seven-and-a-half minute length of this song, it changes enough to always feel fresh. This dude is good. (the forums won't let me embed videos anymore, for reasons that remain mysterious.)Also, a question for anybody who knows: how the hell do you pronounce his name? I feel like a twit whenever I say Trent-mow-ler.
Thompson Posted October 17, 2010 akin to /ə/ (debate) with protrusion as in /ʒ/ (vision) Trent-meel-er? Also, a great song.
Nappi Posted October 17, 2010 The beginning of Into the Great Wide Yonder is really impressive in its epicness. Also: http://www.forvo.com/word/trentem%C3%B8ller/
a purple future Posted October 19, 2010 I'm big into these "Epic metal" bands, I wish I could think of a better genre description, but hey.Stuff like Dream Theater and Symphony X, where its kind of prog rock, but with these big neoclassical style sounding long ass tracks. If anyone can suggest some bands similar to DT, X-Japan and such, I'd appreciate it. I don't know, Blind Guardian maybe? they're more power metal than anything but maybe. Orv Posted November 2, 2010 As a result of my intense enjoyment of USA's new dearth of TV shows, I've been listening to this lady. Quite like her music, the videos are a bit out there. 2EIeUlvHAiM (The other song currently on YT, "The Dog Days Are Over" featured prominently in the trailers/commercials for Covert Affairs.) Garple Posted November 22, 2010 Loves me some big band rock jazz, or whatever the hell Brian Setzer does. I've never really been able to classify his stuff. Swing-Revival, maybe? Or Jump Music Revival... I recommend y'all listen to Stravinsky's "Petrouchka"

Orv Posted November 22, 2010 Have you listened to MF Doom and/or Canibus? If not...you should. I second MF Doom. I quite enjoy DangerDoom, but I haven't pursued Doom on his own. Shall do.
Garple Posted November 23, 2010 I quite enjoy DangerDoom, but I haven't pursued Doom on his own. Shall do. Dangerdoom is good...but limited since it's all tied to the Adult Swim theme. Definitely check out Madvillainy, the project Doom did with the producer known as Madlib.

Nachimir Posted December 4, 2010 If you like Justice, you'll probably enjoy Teenage Bad Girl, also signed to Ed Banger. GIwTdUENewo
Thompson Posted December 4, 2010 I feel like Teenage Bad Girl are more crazy and unwieldy while Justice's music is very controlled and shaped but extremely over pronounced and grandiose. Most of those words were adjectives.
