E3: I'm waiting for something fresh.

Recommended Posts

Please respond to this thread when/if you find any new fresh games at E3, and I mean stuff that we haven't heard about before or any sequels.

I'd like to know what's new. :mock:

Nintendo's weight scale controller. That is all :shifty:

That's not to say that there aren't new IPs shown but they've been few thus far and the ones that have been shown are very much in that established dark/gritty type of genre. You have your open ended world thing (Infamous) and you have your futuristic shooters and that's about all.

And with E3 scaled down as much as it is, it mostly exists as an expo for the BIG publishers. The smaller guys won't be Kentia Hall'ing their way into the "quirky games of E3" lists so, really, don't set your expectations too high.

HOWEVER, there do seem to be plenty of nice small, downloadable games coming for XBLA and PSN (like that Escher-like puzzler). Kind of sad that they have these giant spectacles for these games and the ones that strike my fancy the most are... sub ten dollar downloadable games!?

I guess I'm way to PC if I think it's a bit dubious that black people are playing the dancing minigame and an Asian woman is using the yoga minigame in the trailer.

This is precisely the one I was going to mention, Echochrome. There's a trailer here.

Wow, Echochrome looks like fun. Is there any good reason why it's being developed for the PS3 instead of, well, any platform where it stands a decent chance of being played?

It's being developed by Sony Japan. It's also coming out on the PSP if that helps.
