toblix Posted April 14, 2007 It was bound to happen, but it's good to have a confirmation. Anyway, it's coming out in September.
lobotomy42 Posted April 14, 2007 It was bound to happen, but it's good to have a confirmation. Anyway, it's coming out in September. Woot! That's a much shorter gap between 2 and 3 than between 1 and 2, which is always a good thing.
vimes Posted April 14, 2007 It's really weird that they'd release the US version quicker than when the Japanese version had an English translation included.
toblix Posted April 14, 2007 It's really weird that they'd release the US version quicker than when the Japanese version had an English translation included. Maybe they're just trying to fit it in between PW2 and PW4?
n0wak Posted April 15, 2007 Related and possibly interesting (with cliche stupid Gamespot story title) http://www.gamespot.com/news/6169102.html
miffy495 Posted April 15, 2007 Oooh! Love Harvey Birdman, love Phoenix Wright. Unfortunately, the developer's track record doesn't instill the greatest amount of confidence. As long as they still have Colbert doing Reducto and Phil, it'll at least be worth a laugh.
Kolzig Posted April 15, 2007 Excellent news. It's great that they are porting the third one to USA so quickly after the second game. Too bad that I still haven't played the second game. It's just sitting there on my shelf...
Roderick Posted April 15, 2007 If it ain't a Phoenix Wright animated series (or even live-action series, which would actually be even more awesome), I'm not interested.
Noyb Posted April 15, 2007 Glad to hear that. Hopefully the tight timeline won't mean that the translation will be rushed. There was a significant difference between the early and late case translations in Justice for All. The writers definitely know how to tell a good story, regardless. JoannaDark Posted April 18, 2007 haha, we bought phoenix wright in paris last year and you can set it so it goes objection! in french. its pretty funny. French game shops are weird. its the same chains as anywhere else, i.e. GAME, but its full of men in their forties and fifties. Here it's just twelve year olds buying gta. Sigh. Roderick Posted April 19, 2007 Having played both games in English, it is my plan to play the first one in French (my PW2 is the Japanese version, which would complicate things too severely). It'll be an awesome way to keep my French alive and possibly even upgrade it. And there's a certain awesomeness with which Phoenix says objection! in French
vimes Posted April 19, 2007 Sorry to disappoint you but it's not that different from the English pronunciation. It's not like he was saying " Sacrebleu!"
Roderick Posted April 19, 2007 I think that's a matter of taste. In my opinion there's a completely different flavour and accent to the way he says it. In that way, it IS a bit more like SACREBLUE!
JoannaDark Posted April 20, 2007 OF COURSE its different! its the french word "objection" as opposed to the english word "objection". ive played both and they're totally different. so there. Jesus, I've out-pedantic-ed myself.
Aussie Ben Posted April 21, 2007 Oh man, now I'm wishing Phoenix would point out and shout "SACRE BLEU!" or "CREPE SUZETTE!". I have heard the French version though, and it makes me chuckle: "Objeck-she-on!"
miffy495 Posted April 21, 2007 I wouldn't mind a Quebec localized version where he yells "TABARNAK!"
