Spaff Posted August 3, 2006 Apparently microphone inputs are not a useful thing to have on a video camera any more. Why? I need a video camera for work that can be used with clip on tie mics and normal mics, to film both nice interviews in a meeting room, and also drag around trade shows etc. But the only microphones that seem to be available these days are horsehoe ones. anyone out there got any erm.. advice? Jayel Posted August 3, 2006 how about a separate recorder + a clapper?
Tommy Gun Posted August 4, 2006 I dunno, my Sony camera has a mic input and I have wireless lav mics. Are you looking for a high quality (prosumer?) camera? I can't imagine they no longer have mic inputs, although the higher end ones probably have XLR inputs.
Jayel Posted August 5, 2006 I'm quite partial to the old fashioned clapper. Imagine how special the interviewees would feel if you were the only journalist in town to use one.
