In this episode, Soren Johnson interviews legendary game designer Sid Meier, best known for designing Pirates!, Railroad Tycoon, and Civilization. They discuss using the Ayatollah Khomeini as an enemy, how Strike Eagle differentiated itself from Flight Simulator, and why the torpedo doesn’t go where the player aims it in Silent Service.

Interesting to hear that Sid was using a stack based language. I remember hearing about Starflight being programmed in Forth and thinking that was cool.

I loved Sid's recollection of his first encounter with a computer game, specifically how he stops himself from saying it was at a sleazy bar, and then instead chooses to describe it as a "lounge". That just fits perfectly with my mental image of Sid.
