  1. The next expansion of Path of Exile will be revealed two weeks from today, on July 15, 2021, at 1 p.m. Pacific. The studio Grinding Gear Games made the announcement today, along with a quite brief trailer video and a tagline that says "How far will violence take you?" And for me, considering the millions of monsters that have already been slain by gamers and massive PoE currency as well as some other rewards I have been gathered since Path of Exile launched eight years ago, and I'd say the answer is "pretty far." The Twitch stream would be followed by a live Q&A from Grinding Gear Games' ZiggyD and Chris Wilson. This expansion itself will release the following Friday, on July 23, 2021, on PCs and July 28, 2021, on consoles. Even though there is not too much else to discuss regarding the reveal itself, the comments on the various places it is being shown off, well, to some extent, seem a little complicated. As a matter of fact, if you read the comments regarding the previous few leagues, you would be inclined to think that players are up in arms about the state of the game and that Grinding Gear Games could not do anything correctly. And then there was that cursor-selling affair... Still, with almost everything going "wrong" with Path of Exile today, its numbers are as powerful as ever. There does not seem to be anything amiss with its player count on Steam, which indicates the usual post-expansion dip, and its overall rating, however, is still 92%, with 87% recent popularity. This riveting game is hardly failing or seeing a mass exodus. However, one thing that I have noticed, is that there has not been too much talk lately of breaking user records, something I used to hear from Chris Wilson during every expansion preview. However, that does not mean things are shrinking noticeably, however, they do not seem to be growing either. The company might be fine to tread water from another one year or so while it puts the finishing touches on, which probably can not come soon enough for some gamers.
