  1. There is, in the bar that has the name of the city on top of it, if you click the right part you can change production.

    Thank you, life saver!

I'd probably be up for some Idle Thumbs Civ 5 depending on the day and time.

  2. Something I've been trying to figure out is whether there's a way to change a city's production without going into the city screen and then clicking the production button. The production frame itself is separate to the city screen so I PRESUME there's a way, but since right-click menus are gone now, I'm not sure what it is.

  3. Sadly even Steam is breaking up the Civ V release, with it releasing today in the US and only on Friday in the UK. I tried convincing the Steam store that I was in the US, which worked, but it still wants a US credit card in order to actually buy the game. Very frustrating.

Any American Thumber fancy gifting it to me, if you've got a PayPal account I can pay you back with or something?

I want to be the Romans. :(

  4. I've never really played Sam & Max but I am somewhat interested in it. Do any of you have a particular suggestion for where to start? Would I be all right jumping straight in with the Devil's Playhouse, as presumably that is the most polished version of Sam & Max?

What about if I enjoyed that and wanted to play more, could I play them in reverse order without it being totally screwed up? I honestly don't think I can bring myself to go back to Sam & Max Hit the Road if that's what's going to be suggested... I've lost my ability to play games more than ten years old, I think.

Alternatively, I might be able to play Sam & Max Save the World even if it's not quite as well iterated as the Devil's Playhouse, if the story is very follow-on and I'm going to get the best experience that way.

  5. Personally I preferred the last half of the movie to the final book

Having now read the books... I didn't really like either ending. I think it's partly me, I tend to feel dissatisfied with endings in general... but it also seems like games and any things to do with games don't usually have great endings.

  6. I didn't know that the last volume of the comic hadn't been done when the film was made, but it might explain my feelings on the film. These can be summed up pretty much with "I liked everything except the end". The last 15 or so minutes of the film just didn't live up to the rest of it, for me, which kind of disappointed me as it stopped it from being an automatic strong recommendation for everyone I know.

On the other hand, the promise was good enough that I'll probably actually read the comic now.
