  1. Pro tip: don't go for the pacifism achievement on hard.

Agreed. It felt like I was banging my head against the wall at times and I actually ended up not finishing the game on hard due to me trying to get the pacifism trophy. Haven't actually played since 2008 but I started it up a couple of weeks ago and I'm playing it on easy and am now going for the pacifism one.

In my opinion the game has some really amazing sequences where you'll be running over rooftops or through buildings or whatever and it all seems really seamless and natural, then you get forced into having to wander around an area crawling with enemies and having no chance of getting through without taking them all out first. :frusty:

I think that if I try to go for the hard finish I'll play it as much as a shooter as possible and even then it'll probably still be difficult.

    I love/hate this game...

  2. saw this news earlier today.

What I find really interesting is that they say that your saves on PS3 will be saved on the steam cloud as well. Could this potentially mean that I can play my game on my PS3 and then continue from where I left off on my PC? that would be awesome as I don't always have access to my PS3 or my PC on certain days during the week. :D

  3. Back from a monster of a 15 days, 7 city, South to North train-trip in Japan. Except from Tokyo everything was very great due to the sightseeing, hicking, and meeting strange/awesome people in the guesthouse and backpackers.

Kyoto, Hiroshima and the region around Sendai were the highlights with some quasi literal ming blowing moments when stumbling upon the Todai-ji Temple in Nara, the Shukkei-en garden in Hiroshima and the succession of the Gion district, the trail of Temples, Shrines and nice neighborouds leading to Fushimi_Inari-taisha in the east part of Kyoto. If you plan to go in those cities do not get any info about these in advance to let those surprise you even more.

I finished my trip with a skiing day in Teine - 30 minutes from Sapporo in Hokkaido, a small station that features a ferries wheel and a rollercoaster halfway to the top (close in winter, but still ) as well as a view of the ocean when you go down the highest part of the resort. Very kickass and kind of cheap. I started at 9 AM and stopped 6 PM ... 2 hours later I was on a plane back to Singapore. Xtreeeeeeeeeeeme!

The whole thing put me in the mood to wish a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to the thumb community and meaning it

That's pretty damn awesome! I went over to Japan as part of my honeymoon, when I got married this year. Unfortunately I was only there for 6 days which we ended up having 3 days in Tokyo for some shopping and then going to Kyoto for the next 3 days for sight seeing; unfortunately 3 days just isn't enough! I was blown away by the sights and overall culture over there. Japan seem to have the friendliest people ever!

My next task will be to convince my wife to go again to see more of the country...

This year though I'm going to USA during summer; going to spend 5 days in New York, 3 days in Orlando and going on a 1 week Caribbean cruise. I'm really looking forward to it :D

  4. so, I played it yesterday for about an hour and you were completely right, the first boss is really hard without having any upgrades on your ship. I'm really enjoying it now but I fear I'm over half way through the campaign, as this is the same thing that happened when I played Age of Zombies (which is quite good as well) which I basically played through it in one afternoon.

Also, the name is horrible for what the game is, but I suppose it was trying to break the generic space shooter type naming convention :hmph:

It's a good game and I'll probably wrap it up by next week.

  5. I've got the demo on my Windows Phone and am probably gonna buy it at the end of month when I get some money. I'm really impressed with it so far and I've only played the prologue and the first 3 levels of chapter 1; its going to be the first game I buy on my phone

  6. I'm sort of doing it as long as it doesn't cost me money :P I've managed to get 5 so far, but I really doubt I'm gonna get to 10 before the 20th unless the next 8 set of goals are really easy...

Am really tempted to get the metro 2033, or Beat hazard for 1.75 EUR even though I have no idea what it is.

  7. I've been looking for a platformer to play with my wife since we 100% finished new super mario bros. and almost 100% finished little big planet's story mode(just had to finish all levels without dying, which wasn't fun at all). I really like the visual style and haven't really played one since Donkey Kong country 2 on SNES(I think...)

Will definitely be picking this up, either for Christmas or just after.

  8. you guys play any all random all mid? i love it despite the horrible teams the random can give you!

Is that your user name or your summoner name and are you on EU, caus i can't fin keibo84 when i went to add you:(

yeah that was my username. It finished downloading about an hour ago, so I'll give it a go tomorrow and post my summoner name( didn't know there was a difference lol) I'm in Europe so I'll be on an eu server aswell ;)

  9. I bought it today too, and have it mostly downloaded in spite of Steam's best efforts to keep my download perpetually 'paused'.

    Add me

I played a lot of the original. It's a multiplayer game at heart, playing it alone is like playing Unreal Tournament alone. There was barely a story.

    Added :)

Also, point taken. I had an annoying experience with Borderlands on PS3, I played about half way through the game on my own and thought of trying the online co-op only to find that everyone on there wanted to just rush through the game. It really wasn't what I was looking for when playing online.

  10. Hey,

yeah so I buckled under the awesomeness that was the offer for left 4 dead 1 & 2 and am currently downloading it on steam. so it would be really great if I could arrange with some people to play it through with, or what would you guys suggest. should I play it solo first to get the story and stuff and then play it with others, or should I just dive right in on the multiplayer and not give much care to the story??

    suggestions welcome :)

btw my steam ID is llanikeibo

  11. Its definitely on my "to buy" list. I've played through the 3 primes and since then bought fusion on GBA and downloaded Super metroid on the virtual console, so I suppose I'm abit of a hardcore metroid fan :P(all I'm missing is one of those PVC metroid figure's which is like $200 or something).

I've purposely not actually read any reviews on it so that I don't spoil the game once I do get it. All I've watched is the first trailer that came out when it was shown at E3 I think.

not looking forward to the cut scenes though... or am I ;)

  12. So yeah, I just got this the other day through the Playstation plus and I'm really enjoying it so far.

It's been way too long since I last played an adventure game and the sense of humour is great.

I think I'm currently about half way through episode 1 and will probably try and finish it off this weekend since I find that I forget what I'm doing if I leave it for too long :hmph:

What's great is that I'll still have 4 more episodes to look forward to after this one :D hope the humour is as good

  13. the first lucasArts adventure game I ever played was full throttle. which I thought was amazing but really difficult. I think I must have been around 10 or 11 years old when I first played it and I remember I got to the junkyard bit at the beginning and couldn't figure out how to get the damned forks without the guard dog attacking me :S.

Well now I really feel like digging the game up and trying again lol

  14. Hey Everyone,

My name's Keiron. I've been listening to the podcasts for a while now and seeing as the forums are mentioned quite regularly in the casts it finally occurred to me that I should sign up.

I'm a programmer(not games though. as they're hard to make :S) and during my free time I'll usually play some games on my PS3, Wii and Steam on PC.

Love the podcasts and its the only thing I've been listening to when I need to take out my dog since I discovered it!

Also I'm from Gibraltar in Europe in case anyone was wondering...
