  1. I've played about 30 games in two weeks of having the beta. I'm officially hooked. What I'm working on now is knowing the right time to leave the lane for a gank, when to go in for a last hit without leaving myself vulnerable.

  2. my best hero so far is axe, played him 3 times and won all 3 games. I love having a hero that can take so many hits with his massive armor bonuses, high HP. His lack of speed and range is fixed with a nice blink dagger to rage combo

  3. Finally making that step from n00b learning the basics of the game, to really kicking ass with abilities and item combinations. Just had my best game as Axe, using blink dagger to jump in the middle of two enemy heroes in a team fight, draw their attacks which my boosted armor ability, so the whole team wipes the floor with them

One question. Sometimes when I try to buy an advanced item from the secret shop, it doesn't buy right away? Puts a few items in my stash, sometimes the recipe for it as well? Is this telling me I don't have enough inventory slots for the item, or that I need to go back to the main base to retrieve the recipe before the item will be completed? I think I did that accidently once and it worked, I just want to get some clarification on this system

  4. Finally got a beta key and had a chance to play, 3 online games and 2 with bots. I did terrible and lost all but one, but after reading a lot of guides online I'm finally getting the hang of things. How best to farm creeps early game, how to survive a gank attempt, how best to use items for specific characters.

My last game was epic, we had the "score" lead the whole time, but they had one hero who outleveled all of us and was a big pain, we finally pushed into their base after taking down three of them at once, but we had to fall back and their leveled up creeps were too much for us to handle with our towers gone late game. It could have gone either way and it really sold me on the game.

  5. Yes, I'd rather put points into any other stat than Resistance. It's just so odd that they put it in there?

I think it would have been better if resistance really made a difference not just to your overall damage intake, but how much you could resist of lightning, poison, magic, all those damage modifiers that are tough to fight against sometimes in PVP and in PvE. Especially considering most of the shields barely protect against lightning damage or curse

  6. I tried Hero Attack, the current popular one. Yea it's got some rough edges for sure. But for someone like me who is new to the genre, its fun enough. I'm sure it doesn't compare to LOL or the other ones though

  7. I've got two codes for the Super Monday Night Combat beta, -25% Valve and -50% Avencast.

Also Portal 1. Never going to get rid of that.

Do you still have one of those codes for the monday night combat beta? I'm slowly getting into these DOTA type games and would appreciate it. Thanks if you can!

  8. I finally got around to playing a couple of games of the Lords Management mod on SC2(been playing warcraft and starcract for years and never got into DOTA, and I had so much fun I did the hardware survey and opted in for the DOTA2 beta. Hopefully I can get in soon

  9. I've been playing my second character over the last week after I got hooked again. Going for a super strength, heavy armor/weapons user. Saved up a whopping 58 strength so I could forge Smough's Hammer, one of the unique boss weapons, but I've also got a ton of heavy axes and fist weapons that scale with strength, with the best upgraded heavy armor that you need high strength to use.

Fun way to play. Bosses and enemies that use to crush my previous, jack of all trades character, tire themselves out against my heavy armor, only to get their face smashed in with a giant axe haha.

  10. When thinking about Dark Souls and Skyrim, I think how much fun it is to explore both of their worlds. In Skyrim, you could to talk and interact with the different characters, absorb as much of the story as you want, and have a lot of flexibility building a cool character for combat.

In Dark souls, the story isn't so front and center, but the combat is the best of any RPG I've ever played. They are both great games but I think I have to give the tiebreaker to Dark Souls just because it's a more polished experience. I can't tell you how many times skyrim froze up on me, or took 45 seconds to load just going through a door.
