  1. I endorse the chris remo endorsement of cold shower cappers.

Re: History, as far as I can tell it's pretty much guesswork all the time. There's no more contested history than the 20th century, which is telling? I did enjoy GGS for what it's worth.

  2. In high school during the winter I was out walking while it was snowing pretty heavily. This is in southern sweden btw. I haven't seen a single person while outside either, and I swear I started hearing the phendrana drifts theme playing.

     I was not wearing headphones.

Similarly I was working in the kitchen and went down a couple of stairs to get stuff from the dry storage. The electricity had cut out so I had to go get a candle, when I got to the door to dry storage I had this weird feeling, in this basement the dry storage was converted from a sauna, so when I pushed open the door I was pretty much in a wood themed zelda dungeon with every can, box and knick knack casting moving shadows all over thanks to the swaying candle (lantern). It was pretty good.

  3. I am, despite being let down a bit by #2, and the game eating my save game 26 hours in (never went back). Just bring me angels and demons fighting with comically huge weapons while metal plays in the background and I'll be there.

  4. Related to the battle.net/destiny thing: it's weird to me how blizzard/activision made all this effort to make a platform for selling games/updating/chatting/streaming/etc and they still several years down the line have not made any effort to expand that beyond blizzards own titles? It's baffling to me. I did install Origin to play titan fall 2, for the first time since battlefield 3.... the client is SO BAD.

  5. It's not that valve does not bring anything to the table, they clearly do. That's so beyond basic I don't really know how to approach that type of comment? Does that excuse valve having a competition for maybe getting to sell your work with them taking 3/4ths of the cut, them setting the price of your work, while taking on none of the costs?

  6. Probably the only thing on video games that I think has been worth reading for the last couple of months: https://www.polygon.com/2017/5/16/15622366/valve-gabe-newell-sales-origin-destructive I think it deserves it's own thread. Ugh I'm so fuckin tired of all this shit.

As far as Valve is concerned, it's a fantastic arrangement: You do all the hard work for free, knowing that you might never be paid, but hoping you will at some point.

  7. Anyone still playing this? I hadn't gotten around to the Reaper of Souls expansion until a month ago and now I just started a Season 10 character :) . Like, it's hard to express in words, but damn if blizzard isn't just the best at making shit feel excellent to play! My battle tag is mjukis#2648 if you want to join the monster slaying romp!

I still feel most of the abilities are skewed towards murder rather than stealth and I had a hard time figuring out how to use Emily's abilities. Except far reach, I really liked Domino. Hoever, shadow walk i only used to crawl through rat spaces, and I got doppelganger late and everytime I used it, it backfired - the doppelganger would run towards me... I didn't use the mystify one at all. How did you use her skills? I am guessing Corvo's are gonna be the same more or less as in the first game?

Yes! I got the far reach slowdown, which does make risky run+jumps over courtyards possible and such. None of the stealthier options Emily had (doppel, mesmerise, shadow walk, domino) seemed all that interesting to me? I just opted for domino (because sleep darts are hard to come by), and bone charm crafting tier 4 runes for passive bonuses like faster choke times. Boring, but effective.

  9. 17 hours in on Emily first time through, going into mission 6. It's good. Unfortunately some performance issues/crashing/long loading times/the sound mix being wonky or sounds simply not playing at all is putting a a damper on it for me. It's a little hard even on just "regular"? One good hit from a guard usually takes you out or puts you on deaths door which makes combat real hectic real fast once there's more than one enemy around. It feels larger/more expansive than the first game, with a lot of verticality to it, which is cool. The guards act more alert, investigating your slightest appearance, often spotting you almost instantly unless you're across a courtyard. They can also look up now (at least a a bit) which is

Looking forward to shanking copperspoon good and proper.

  10. Well I didn't see the rebirthing thing coming. Not sure I would recommend this? The imagery is unsettling but the puzzles are not all that interesting. It's very well produced, but to the point of where you end up just pushing right on the analogue stick.
