    If Chris' new job is at Harmonix, that's really close to the apartment I lived in when I was still in Boston. It's smack in the middle of Central, lots of places to eat and stuff. Basically on top of the T station..

    Also, even if it's not to cast, you guys should consider using Vent (or Skype I guess, I've had bad luck with it though) just to keep in touch. Once you get used to basically being on a phone call with 3-10 people it makes for a nice way of chatting to long distance friends.

    Thompson wins. I'm relistening to the handful and at least one of the moments I was thinking of is in episode 21. Though I think I might have confused the conversation from this episode with a later one. My memory apparently acts really strangely.

    Also related to episode 21: I've said DotA 'Doh Tah' for as long as I can remember, it didnt occur to me people wouldnt say it any other way. I guess I blame

    I like this thread, because I also have a question.

    You guys happen to know which of the episodes they had talked about how neat it would be to have a diplomatic game set in the Cold War?

    Or if that episode even exists... I'm pretty sure it was Thumbs, but I've been known to make stuff up..

    !!! I want one. I'd almost prefer it to have a sharper edge... but oh man. I love home decorating crap like this. This is now on my ever-growing list of DIY's...

    Edit: I also really really like all the people who use them for decoration/art and still have files in them... There's something kind of cool about having something contained in them but used in a construction of something... If that makes sense (I'm not articulate, at all, argh).

    Fellow Boar's Head brand loyalist here.

    If I could figure out an easy way to smush turkey into the smooth essence of deli meat on my own (and without buying a grinder), I totally would. It's goodstuff.

    Also, I'm pretty sure you can get smushed-deli-style meat thats all 'cruelty-free' and such at this point. (Also, lets not start that argument.. :shifty:)

    Was indeed 20$ at local Gamestop, wasn't sure at the time if I could find it used anywhere cheaper (I'm -that- broke/cheap), so didn't pick it up.

    Haven't found it cheaper though, so next time... next time..

    Every time I see this article pop up I think of Zoe Flowers... that lady who used to do a section in the Playstation Magazine (I know she does other things now, but thats the first place I think of).

    Also, that would be so horribly awful to have. If you've ever been held down as a kid and tickled far beyond asking someone to stop... I imagine it's similar to that, but every day forever. :\

    My uncle used to wear those Big Dog shirts, ugh. Does that company or it's stores still exist?

    It's really BigDog's pants/legwarmers that make it freaky to me, if it just had exposed joints it would be less wiggly and organically creepy to me.

    Ahaha, there goes that idea... Ah well, it seems daunting to keep up with as a poster anyhow.

    Just thought the game was hilarious sounding and wanted to help. Sent my voices to the facebook page for it, maybe they'll remember to check it.

    I have more of a technical question than a discussion creating one..

    I decided I felt like contributing to Dudebro , so I signed up for an account after all...

    Problem is, it's been about 3 days since I made it, and I still haven't gotten an activation email? Is this normal? I used my non-yahoo/gmail/etc. email, and under my cp it is listed as the correct one... Do they manually approve people?

    The only reason I feel pressured to make a thread of this is there's a deadline to the Dudebro voiceover auditions, and well, I have one I'd like to post.

    Before we get too far into a discussion on art history and art-tastic things.. I'd just like to make the obvious statement that it's really always been Ebert's implication that video games arent a legitimate, potentially meaningful form of media as a whole that makes me personally enter nerdrage.

    Thats how I've always interpreted him using the phrase 'not art'... Which is kind of the wrong way (though more immediately inflammatory way) of making that point but whatever..

    I think we're all on the same page with that already. Just felt like in this point of the thread it needed to be restated.

    I guess I completely interpreted the theme differently... My initial reaction was to think of 'showing restraint' as in making the player not act on impulses. Though I have no idea how to represent that in the timeframe... and not being a programmer even a little, I dont know how feasible that is..

    I enjoyed watching this.

    Edit: I should add, the reason I thought of that first was because I was thinking of games that made me feel restrained. And on top of that list was SWAT4. Possibly the fault of the Thumbs talking about it recently....

    The timing of this is really hilarious for me.. I just dug up my old EverQuest CD the other day, because I really had a strange need to play the original tutorial that came with it...

    The installation includes a pdf of the manual, which I decided to reread, if not for just the cute system requirements page. I ended up finding 7+ pages of 'lore' stuff that was super fun to reread. It made me wish I had a physical copy really badly.

    The whole thing reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend on digital books... She didnt like the idea of them because she enjoys the whole 'sensation' of flipping pages or whatever. I was saying I'd rather not have a whole bookcase full of stuff I read once or twice but didnt care about enough to read again, but instead have maybe just a shelf of really high quality versions of the ones I loved...

    Getting rid of the mass production of this sorta stuff makes me hope that when it is physically produced it could potentially be keepsake-like. Or maybe just the Collectors Editions of junk would come down in price / be full of better stuff.. (wishful thinking to the max)?

    This. As someone who has attempted at least making a counter argument to Pollack and Mark Rothko bashing, etc. ... that whole statement is just true.

    Rodi, I can completely see where you're coming from, since squares of color arent as immediately visually cool looking as something painted by Lawrence Alma-Tadema or even Frank Miller if you wanna go there. In fact, I personally dont like Rothko or even Warhol's stuff... at all. I'll still defend it as being valid though, because who am I to say that the thing those guys worked at for years is not just crap to me, but should be considered crap by everyone.

    Also, if Sister Wendy is a rich hipster, then I'm not sure what to make of the world.

    I was trying really actively not to get trolled by Ebert on this... but it's becoming unavoidable... Even innocently reading the reviews for How To Train Your Dragon of all things stuck it into my eyeline.

    But really... I'm a bit embarrassed for him? He's really made it apparent he doesnt have a clue where his opinion is based and that he is pigheadedly not going to do anything to enlighten himself at all, ever, no way.

    There's a little extra video game zing in the opening paragraph too. He didnt really sound too positive about the movie either, which I dissagree with. It was fun. I recommend it to those of you who are too old for kids movies but still see them anyway because they're awesome. They're the best for making your day nice and sunnier. :clap:
