  1. [insert name here] writes....

Most of my stuff was read. The only thing I wrote that didn't get read (if I'm remembering this stuff correctly) was this (and it was terrible garbage so I'm glad it didn't) ------------------------------------------------------------- So last night I had a dream I was walking through my local Target and I saw Jake Rodkin. It looked nothing like Jake, but in my dream my brain identified him as Jake. He sounded like Jake but that was pretty much it. We said "video games" to each other and that was it. I woke up really freaked out. It really bothered me that this person wasn't Jake but my dream brain said it was. I felt compelled to write you guys as some sort of apology as I feel this is my fault somehow. Sorry, Wes Martin \ -------------------------------------------------------------
  2. It's been a fun ride guys. Thanks for all the casts and good times, even though you all called me called me a crazy person. Good luck with all of your future endeavors. Wes Martin
  3. Not sure where else to throw this. There is a new cyborg in town. "Mad Catz' Cyborg R.A.T. 9 wireless gaming mouse features 2.4Ghz wireless technology with less than 1 millisecond of lag, two lithium-ion rechargeable battery packs, 42 grams of removable weights and a charging stand that can power-up the spare battery and hold the weights. Gamers can individually set the x and y-axis DPI of the R.A.T. 9's 5600DPI gaming grade laser sensor and store 4 individual DPI settings which can be instantly recalled via an integrated toggle switch. The house also includes a precision aim mode which allows gamers to hold down a button and temporarily slow down cursor movement, steadying the aim. The mouse's five programmable buttons combined with a 3 position mode switch allows for a total of up to 15 user definable commands to be available to the gamer at any one time. Cyborg Smart Technology software included in pack allows gamers to remap programmable buttons and create custom macros. The R.A.T. 9 is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP and sells for $129.99, £119.99, €129.99. Mad Catz is also showing off their new G.L.I.D.E. mouse pad at this week's show. The G.L.I.D.E. 7 is 19.7" by 15.7" and made of "a low-friction synthetic fabric ensuring smooth and accurate mouse control at all times."" Any thoughts as to what R.A.T. and G.L.I.D.E. stand for? http://kotaku.com/5614603/cyborg-rat-invades-gamescom-this-week
  4. The sun will never fall on Idle Thumbs!
  5. My air conditioner just broke in my house. It's 90 something degrees outside. I wade through the sauna that is my computer room to find that my Fallout 3 GOTY edition download speed has dropped to 30kb/s. There's an Idlethumbs podcast downloading in my iTunes queue. I love video games.
  6. Woah! Where did that recording of them playing/singing come from?!
  7. I actually would be sad if a wave came out of nowhere and knocked the Big Dog over. It struggles to get up, but can't. It gets pulled out to sea, the bee sound doing that whole circuit bent pitch down slow down thing that robots on TV do when they get unplugged.
  8. Yo I found a video of the Big Dog enjoying some vacation time. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0s7aRUIoTw&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0s7aRUIoTw&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Also I just finished Sam and Max 301 and didn't see Famous' name in the credits. Did I just miss them? He does work at TT, yes?
  9. Towards the end of the pod, you guys were rambling about a Space Marine throne. I, being a huge 40k nerd, immediately remembered this. It's Marneus Calgar, the head of the Ultramarines. The Ultramarines are a division of the Space Marines.
  10. I feel like something is missing. The only new podcast I have today is the Bombcast...
  11. Idle Thumbs PAX 09: Ron Gilbert !!

Great episode, it was quite an enjoyable listen. Also, I laughed when I saw the title of the show in itunes.
  12. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hello! I've been registered for awhile and posted in the (ign.com) thread but never here. I started listening to the podcast around 13 or 14 and have listened through all of them more than once. Games. I have horrible luck with them. I'm on my 3rd 360. My ps3 doesn't output sound for some reason. There's sound in the XMB, but not in any game. My Wii broke and I got it fixed but I haven't really played it. I play TF2, Rockband 2 (Drums/Guitar), Halo 3 and I love all kinds of RPG's/FPS's.
  13. First game you remember playing

My parents won an old NES (late 95 or 6). We couldn't afford anything new and I didn't know about the SNES or other Video game things back then. That first night I played "Gargoyle's Quest II", Contra, FF1, and Monsters in my Pocket. No idea which one I played first, but I consider all of those my "first" games.
