  1. Excellent.

Is that your mate holding a phone out the side of the car? I may have a project to do involving that at some point… :)

    It is indeed.

...and if you need someone to provide the car for such an experiment, well, you have my number :)

  2. The ability of Breaking Bad to ratchet up the tension and keep it there is unsurpassed in any other show. Particularly where Hank is involved.

The Wire is totally different and the comparison is not really fair. They are both excellent.

  3. I feel ambivalent about it. It's fairly charming, and the controls didn't get to me, but it didn't take very long at all to sense the grind underneath then instantly exhale any remaining motivation to play.

This is the impression that I have got from reading everyone's posts above.

  4. Indeed. The engine is more modern (Vauxhall engines are pretty bombproof if looked after) plus that blue with the white leather and the TSW rims, it looks so so good. Might need to swap exhaust out for a quieter one though

I do like the bits of detailing on the red one, black headlamps and wingmirrors... But yeh. Might be underpowered for my tastes.

Am meeting a local owner tomorrow, hopefully he will be able to clue me in a little better.

  5. Yeh, whichever I get will most likely be laid up for winter. Now is the time to buy though for summer! (Plus those clear cold sunny winter days).

Whew! All this angst! For those of you who like cars, here are 2 nice ones to look at that I'm considering at the moment:

    and:

    http://boardroom.wscc.co.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=9;t=92076

The first works out at around 205bhp/tonne (current ride is ~157/tonne) and the second works out at around a massive 350bhp/tonne - but is substantially more expensive, 4 hours away and a more complex engine.

Apart from that, have a row with neighbours on the horizon about drive resurfacing costs.

  7. I've just bought Quarrel. It's a mixture of scrabble and risk, and suprisingly addictive.

I will check yours out too Sin, in a wee while.

[Edit] Haha! "It's a little bit like hockey, eh?"

Saw that and had to check, knowing that you were from Cananananananda.

    Man I love that country.

  8. Snowcrash is good fun, and his Baroque cycle is very interesting, but pretty heavy. Crypto is pretty damn awesome. So nice to read an author who *really does understand technology*. The reviews seem to say that this isn't as good as Crypto, but is a fab book in it's own right. Screw those guys, I'm looking forward to it! Just go to finish Dance With Dragons...

  9. Haha! For the moment, yes. Until the end of march, at least. Then we will have the new season and it is very tempting to either take a short term 2 month extension (if offered!) and quitting entirely.
