That's a lot of shit I ain't ever gonna touch. :shifty:

  2. ohhhhh, so you guys dont even have enough range to cross the other lines yet? I was thinking it would be a weird strategy but unexpected to do that at the start, but if you can't even this is a really strange game set up, just the massive shit storm in the middle soon will be hilarious

Yeah. It's weird because going out you can, really, only claim about three stars before the distance becomes too great to continue (until you upgrade range, which is the most expensive tech), while inside it just gets closer and closer, so the map is basically funneling players inward.

  3. My real computer broke, and I've been out all day. Bad circumstances.

    Way to out yourself :shifty:

And spiral galaxy is weird, but I think a lot of the weirdness comes from the slow one planet start. Once people start expanding towards the centre and start developing range to be able to cross, I think things are going to get really interesting.

  4. I find it quite telling that, Brutal Legend aside, Rock Band is becoming more and more of a sim and Guitar Hero is going the douchey, desperate final attempt route.

Harmonix is continually building on their passion for music and music playing, via games.

Neversoft is continually building on their passion for games, with music and music playing.

I think that was pretty evident from the start, when Guitar Hero 3 added "boss fights" and weird battle modes and licensed personalities while Harmonix went and made it more fun to just play music, and do so with friends.

  5. Hey, I actually completed games. PLURAL.

    Zeno Clash

    Red Dead Redemption

    PixelJunk Shooter

The latter was completed just in time for a PixelJunk Shooter 2 announcement at E3, which gets me excited. Liked the game a great deal.

There was an Ace Team game announcement too, so doubly so.

  6. I think Mizuguchi, my old idol doesn't really like the Wii. He hasn't created even one game for it, but he doesn't hate Nintendo as his company has supported the DS with good games.

Actually there was some project he was rumored to be working on for the Wii, but that was something like 1,5 years ago that I last heard of it.

I don't know. Miyamoto had a personal demonstration of Child of Eden at E3. I think more than anything it has a lot to do with the fact that Q? is a fairly small outfit and a lot of this kind of stuff depends on sales / publishers giving them money to do things. They expressed an interest to port Rez to the Playstation 3 as well, and asked if people would be interested on Twitter, but it's hard to know how much that'd cost and sell.

  7. Custom games are worse.

But they greatly improved the free roam, to the point where you actually have things to do there other than pointlessly kill each other. And it's a fun world to mess around with.

That said, a co-op update is coming soon and that might add an extra level of fun, though I assume the number of supported players with that will be limited.

Also: instant death water? Fuck you.

  9. Anyone that wants to play my super annoying Vega (76% win rate on Ranked Games!!) or my slightly less annoying Juri or Blanka (I'm working on making my Gouken more annoying too) can find me on the 360 as n0wak. I'm pretty much game anytime I'm on, so send me a message.

The mid 90s were horrible :getmecoat

  11. Civ is a well-established niche franchise developed by a magnificent magical madman who gets to do what he wants. This is an untested team trying to restart an esoteric franchise in a big way. Doesn't pass the safe bet smell test. Safe bets are the only things that get funded nowadays, it seems.

I don't know. It gets the Farbs Seal of Approval so that makes it fairly promising in my books http://twitter.com/FarbsMcFarbs/status/12158420566
