  1. One big screen can't be folded up. How do you propose they keep it small?

Tilt the console round 90°, back to how it was with the original GB?

Oh, and the thing that's always confused me about the DS is why only one of the screens is a touchscreen. Surely that limits the uses that can be made of it, even if having a double touch screen would have been more expensive to produce?

  2. I have to agree with the first response. Who cares?

Personally, I can't blame EA if they did just skim over the books, as I've always found Tolkien completely unreadable. My god is it boring. And I find myself hating every character in the story more and more with each passing page. Especially when it comes to LOTR. Suck it up, you little whiny Hobbit bastards, and get on with it.

In my opinion, Tolkien is quite possibly THE most overrated writer of the past centuries. Possible exception of Steven King, but still, you get the point.

    Addendum:

As for the movies, they were very pretty. Pretty is not necessarily good. The new Star Wars trilogy was pretty too, and you can see where that got them.

    Amen to that.

  3. Sid Meiers? I understand that Firaxis cunningly removed the option to perform terrorist atacks on rivals' cities to make it more palatable to governments nowadays. Regardless of ones' personal opinion on censorship (even self-interested self-censorship) I suppose this would make the Civ series acceptable in schools.

That being said the fact that Genetics leads to The Cure For Cancer might upset some people.

Firaxis games aren't published by EA ;)...

  4.:tdown: Goddamn it. Ever since this frickin' thread started terrible things have happend to my left thumb. Now I frickin' stabbed it. Twice. Within 30 minutes of each other. Son of a bitch.
Did your mother never tell you not to play with knives? ;)

  5. That's what I was thinking as well. It's not often that we pay homage to the mighty workforce of people who make CD's/DVD's. Disc pressers everywhere, I salute you :worship: . Your all my favorite. That is until games are distributed in different forms.

Didn't EA make some dodgy discs at one point that kept cracking? I think they did in Europe at least. So I salute almost all of you guys.

  6. Your guesses and tries to reveal the name of my beloved Video game company are doomed to failure, Mr. Extremo.

It has a "T" an "E" and an "O" in its name, but it is far too complex for any feeble human mind to comprehend.

    Bowahahahaha...!

Seriously though, why is this thread in the review section?

So MicrosofT GamE StudiOs, then? ;)

  7. Whilst I'm not sure I like the styling of Tony Hawk DS - those trees look hideous - I agree with your general sentiments. That other game you linked to looks nice. Dammit, I'm going to end up cracking and buying one of these DS things...

  8. Hmm. Watching those trailers has confirmed two things. First, that I won't be going to see The Wedding Crashers. Second, that trailers are far more amusing with badly Photoshoped alternative heads ...

  9. exactly Jake :) Although Kirby's canvas curse is a bit unattended at the moment. Anyone in here that actually has that game?

No, but I hear that it really is very cool...

  10. Well, it already did *some* damage. France and England are fighting over an agriculture subsidy, Italy and The Netherlands are moaning about their financial contribution, and there's uncertainty as how to proceed. And the Euro devaluated a little, although that's not necessarily a bad thing.

    --Erwin

Well, France and England argue periodically anyway, though Chirac has chosen to bring it up now so that he can score some sort of political victory. And the Euro seems to be doing a good job of devaluing itself anyway :).

But, yes, the votes do seem to have pushed a few things forward.
