So, for some reason, David Bowie's voice was redubbed. This leads to all sorts of questions...

Actually, I'm pretty sure that scene was taken from the Missing Pieces as opposed to the theatrical version of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. I do remember how different this moment from the theatrical version was, and I do believe Lynch used slightly different angles and possibly even different takes for the Missing Pieces. I could be wrong about where the audio comes from. I'm still hoping to see Bowie appear at some point but, as the episode count shortens, it's becoming harder for me to believe that will be the case. It's certainly possible, however, given the secrecy surrounding this season.

  2. I'm not even sure what to think of this episode, not because of how much happened, but because, let's see... Sarah Palmer took her face off, the outrageous Fireman story involving the glove, and then there's James and the mysterious noise which, I hope, has something to do with Josie so we can get some answers there. Despite the fact that this is Twin Peaks, I sincerely believe we will get all the answers we want in these last few episodes. People have been complaining, but everything's coming together - kinda. Even if more questions pop up with each new episode. Also, who else found the scene with the window wiper and Gordon hilarious? The noise Gordon made was priceless as he tried to turn the box down. "Aeahehaehehhh."

I also loved Gordon's bafflement at Lucy when he asked if she had been working as the sheriff's receptionist all through the years, and she took it literally. "You've been there all through the years, Lucy?" "Well, actually, I have gone home, and Andy and I have taken some vacations. One year we went to Bora Bora." *silence*

One more minor observation after a second viewing last night. The thing spewing that stuff in the bomb sequence had what looked like small horns on its head, that sort of resembles the playing card design Bad Coop had earlier.

That thing in the glass box was shaking too much to identify those small features, but on the whole looked similar.

Which begs the question: is it loose in our world now? And why would Cooper have the figure on a card like that?

This isn't a super relevant note but I thought it was interesting and haven't seen it mentioned.

Girl (1956) picks up a heads-up penny, touches Lincoln's face, and says that it's good luck.

The Woodsman who hypnotizes her with his poem is played by Robert Broski. Robert Broski is a Lincoln impersonator and has primarily been cast as Lincoln in his acting career. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3716858/

Wow. So Twin Peaks marks the first role of his not to represent Abraham Lincoln. What a transition.

    She was wrong.

The more I think about this episode, I realize that I liked pretty much everything...

... except the pervasive evidence that Twin Peaks is being reduced to Good-vs-Evil.  Everybody on this thread saying "it's too early to judge if it's going that way" are behaving like Star Wars Prequel apologists... you KNOW what you're looking at.  Stop trying to wiggle around it.

The Frost Giant has turned into a Palmer Orb of Golden Goodness!

    Sigh.

I know what I'm looking at? This is Twin Peaks, man.

  7. Is this where "fire walk with me" comes from? I wonder... And I am speculating that the girl that the "insect" crawled into is either Sarah Palmer or Bob's mother. If it were Sarah Palmer, that would be the most interesting in my opinion, but I also didn't care for the "ball sent to Earth" thing because I have a feeling that I'm not going to like exactly what that means. If they end up being aliens or something - since it appears they sent it down to Earth - that would be a bummer. But I can't believe we have to wait two weeks after seeing THAT. Incredible episode.
