    Here's some sounds.

I had a go at making some fixed pitch stuff. There is only one level of fixed High RPM at the moment so if you want more (higher or lower) just let me know. If you decide to go the complexe route and need ramp downs I can make those too.

I've also included some full ramp up stuff in case you go with that method. If you do I think you'll get a better result but it will cost a bit of time.

    Hope these work :)

  2. I've seen it twice now and I really liked it. I had no expectations before and I was surprised how much it pulled me in.

Also In reply to eot ^ I think the droid was mentioned as one of a kind or something.

I thought the film was part playing it safe (death start, trench run etc) and part moving forward(Kylo rens insecurity/inverted strive to be dark, hans death etc). I wasn't too on board with some of the previous and I think they may have tried to have their cake and eat it too by doing both. Maybe thats why the death star stuff didn't quite land how it should have. I hope the future installments can now focus on moving forward and play it less safe.

  3. "If you don’t like uptalk or vocal fry, fine: with language as with fashion and music we’re entitled to our personal preferences. But with language, people have a bad habit of presenting what are actually personal preferences as if they were objective facts." from second article.

People do this with music all the damn time and it's the bane of my life. More on topic though I agree completely with the article. I'd imagine traveling 200 years into the future i'd encounter an english considerably changed to what i'm used to today. Does scifi stuff ever tackle this kind of thing? I haven't read much sci fi.

  4. Hmm thats cool. Its made by Lexus?? They made a skatepark entirely for this thing?? Are people supposed to go buy these? I don't quite get it. The whole campaign is so weird to me..

Oh wait I just rewatched it and a Lexus car drives under the guy doing the air. Now I get it.

    Huh

My cynical side was just set ablaze.

  5. I am one of those people. Math class became tech-deck class from age 14 and onwards thanks to my lack of interest and a very lenient teacher. A few years ago I went through all the basics at Khan Academy and caught up a little bit. It was crazy how much basic stuff I just didn't know. I learnt enough to learn to code (which I know is pretty basic) but I was really surprised and proud I wasn't a dumbass like I thought.

If anyone can relate I'd definitely recommend Khan Academy though I haven't been there for a few years.

  6. Going to a psychologist tomorrow. Pretty nervous that i'm making a big deal out of nothing. I don't know though.. Ill at least get some perspective on myself.

  7. American media/culture has always been heavily present in my life. I think is kind of odd considering it's a country on the other side of the world.

I know all sorts of bits and bobs about this whole country i've never been and may never go. If you go the other way id doubt many Americans would have a clue about anything in New Zealand. Which is fine, NZ doesn't export its culture anywhere near as much as the US. It kind of shows how much media can influence people.

So yah if this were a civ game America has really high culture.

I can't really speak for what I actually think of american people though.. I've never really met any(internet excluded).

I think there's a kind of frustration people can have with the idea of an American person. I dont think its right but there's this kind of urge to think that American people are arrogant and that they believe the world runs on their own clock.

Of course this is entirely unfair but it's an undercurrent i've both seen in my pairs and felt to some degree in the past and I wonder where it comes from. Also entirely probably this isn't a common thing and i'm just stupid.

  8. Anddd I just finished Wolfenstein The New Order. I've been craving a fairly straightforward shooter/stealth game and TNO was what I was looking for.

I have got to say though why the hell was there no lunar combat ??? I mean you go out on the surface with all your guns and gear then you only get three drones to fight. In fact i'd have thought the moon would be at the climax of the whole game. Supremely bummed there was no low gravity gun play. In general I thought they didn't play with the awesome environments as i'd have liked... Like there wasn't much environmental variables or hazards even when it was perfectly set up.  Sublevel, diving level, train level etc all had way more opportunity. Though the guns lacked variety too.

There was a lot of eye rolling and weird bits in the cutscenes too but whatever.. video games. I did like bits and pieces though in particular how music was tied into to the plot.  I think a game like Wolfenstein should always have its tongue in its cheek and sometimes TNO does. Sometimes it tries to tell a somber serious story, or make me care about a character sincerely which will never work for me. The relationship between the protagonist and the love interest is bizarre. Lots of weird moments and at some points the game is just telling me "HE LOVES HER ALOT< HE REALLY REALLY DOES< PLEASE BELIEVE US" but I have no real understanding of why or what they like about one another. I cant find anything to relate to, both characters are pretty much blank. The side characters were more interesting I thought.

If I were making a game like this i'd take the tone and shift it away from the serious life message stuff and embrace the reality that it's about future space nazis a little bit more. I think you could still tell a strong relatable tale without a 100% serious tone. Most other medium do this fine but it seems so many AAA shooters seem to just ignore the absurd elements of their game rather than make use of it. Also the protagonist gets knocked out during a cutscene about a thousand times as well as being injured in the most total and absolute ways. Apparently shrapnel to the head is 14 years in a coma but a 3 ton rock is 14 seconds. I mean I know, video games.. but it's just so dissonant. Anyway it doesn't matter I don't really know shit so I guess disclaimer here.

Music and sound was great there was some amount of modern AAA tension strings and cheesy stuff but also a lot of unique bits. The chugging guitar riff thing which is usually boring as fuck had this moment at the end where the track goes nuts and no holds are barred. I thought it was cool that the composer was able to withstrain their use of that particular technique enough to have a really big pay off at the climax. The music came from a bunch of angles i'm not used to in these kinds of shooters. It was really powerful. That opening menu theme is fucking sweet.. I think it kicks in during the final level too and it feels amazing.

I mainly mentioned negative stuff because its easier to do so I just want to say I still really enjoyed this game.

  9. I don't know.. It seems every person ever has a blind spot in which they become Totalbiscuit. Like the blind spot size can be reduced but inevitably everyone is that person to some degree at some point. I don't think our brains actually accept "truth" as much as we make out.

But I really don't know so shrug.
