  1. It's just Jackie Chan getting chased across the galaxy for 90 minutes. It ends with an him in an X-wing flight suit getting a kiss on the cheek, and as he smiles at the camera, his teeth sparkle and it fades out with a circle like in a Looney Tunes cartoon.

They also throw in the boulder chase from Raiders for no reason, and a cardboard box full of plastic snakes gets dumped on him while he's trying to balance on wooden poles over lava.

  2. I don't know if he's told this on the bombcast, but Dan's been warned by his doctor that he's at risk of getting diabetes. He even switched to an all salad diet, only he didn't realize that the salad he'd been dieting on was full of mayonnaise.

  3. I've been watching a lot of GameInformer Super Replays lately, and I find him a lot funnier on those. It's mainly cause those guys gave him way more crap for saying dumb stuff, though.

If you've got a few hours to kill i recommend watching the Super Replay of Tail of the Sun on youtube. It's basically Dan playing through a weird Japanese caveman game with no instructions. It's highly entertaining.

  4. I've always kinda wondered if all the strawmen and misconceptions regarding PC and feminism are all informed by parodies from the 80s and 90s. Because the first thing I picture when someone mentions PC are sketches where a group of comedians dressed as children of every ethnicity and a guy in a wheel chair do bad musical numbers, and the word feminism conjures up Married With Children immediately.

  5. Yeah, one of Gamergate's goals, in practice, is to try and keep up a persistent climate of fear that they control around women participating in games. I'd imagine that ethics discussion will happen organically if Gamergate finally dies because, as far as I can see, gaming journalists are intensely aware of how close they are to being third-party PR, and how there's a gap between that and what they'd hope and imagine game journalism to be.

I think Gamergate people would actually be pretty happy if the gaming press were completely third-party PR.  If these people are composed of the same hardcore gamers I've been encountering over the last few years, it seems like they want every AAA game to get an A for effort anyway.
