Mington, you're on episode 10 of the first season? I'm probably not the only one who'd enjoy any impressions/speculations if you got time to post em.

From what I remember, all non jedi/sith enemies were pushovers with anything you cared to use, but jedi/sith could only be beat by light sabers/some force powers? Maybe you could clip them with grenades. But all the rest of the guns were useless if they had their lightsaber out.
-
You start with a lightsaber in Jedi Academy. I'm not 100% sure anymore, but I remember different lightsaber moves being triggered by moving in a direction by holding WASD and then clicking? Multiplayer people then mouselooked all over the place because the animation was fixed but the movement wasn't.
The lightsaber fights were always really cool in the jedi knight games but I ended up quicksave/loading all of them I think.

10 hours ago, RubixsQube said:(Nick, Jake, and Chris are explaining to an alien about the oddities of Earth culture)
Jake: ...and that's why the film Cars is secretly very weird.
Alien: Actually could you go back to the part that started this whole thing, where your people has gone and built a fictional city from this children's story such that you might...walk around in it, and perhaps enjoy meals?
Nick: Also, there are rides.
Alien: Rides?
Nick: Yes. You sit down inside some of the characters from the film and you are propelled quickly around. In one case, you kind of go through the story of the film Cars.
Alien: Wait, from what you said, the characters from the film Cars are cars.
Chis: Yes, which is why it's so weird they decorate their cities with -
Alien: (shaking off Chris) How do you arrive at this place, with the recreation and the rides?
Jake: ...we drive.
Alien: In a real car? And not a fictional car, or a character from the film Cars.
Jake: Yes.
Alien: So you get in a car, and are propelled quickly...to a recreation of a fictional city such that you might wander around and then get inside other...(fake?) cars, which are characters from a children's story, to also get pushed around. I would assume that here you are...moving quicker than when you traveled to this place originally?
Jake: No, actually. It's much slower.
Alien: Yeah, see, this is the weird thing, guys.
This still works if you replace "Earth culture" with "American culture" and "Alien" with "European".

I haven't done it in my playthrough but all the bits of this video were exactly the same in the game:
One of the outcomes is freeing it.
ALSO, I thought I spoiled myself on this one quest by watching that video, turns out there's at least one more interaction than it shows.
-
The freeing of the
biomechanical squid, you totally can free him and not kill him. I don't think he does anything bad to the city tho.
The whole Sagus Cliffs feels more like an introduction to the world of Numenera, not to the game of Torment. It goes weirder.
Also for the asshole/not asshole responses, mechanically they'd have to track something you do and then enable/disable responses? I dunno.

It pretty much is a choose your own adventure kinda thing. Combat is super rare, and they made a system that actually makes it so non-combat interactions aren't a resource-management free activity.
-
I just bluffed my way past them.
-
I was hoping it would somehow be a bit Little Big Adventure but he could still make some other game in that style. I don't think this is a game I would enjoy.

Sadly it's call is not baboo
-
Since you enjoy animal names, you can enjoy the mighty Eurasian eagle-owl AKA Bubo Bubo. I think it's pronounced as Boo-bo Boo-bo.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasian_eagle-owl
Ornithologists monitor them by their distinctive hoots, each bubo bubo having it's own personal hoot frequency profile. This makes it easy to record their movements if you place enough recorders in an area.

Where do you stand on calling Pandaren Brewmaster Brew versus Panda?
-
You gotta know there's lots of non native english speakers speaking english and inventing the jargon along the way. Ulti might be easier to roll off the tongue in different languages. It's also 1 syllable vs 2.

I added a sign to your tower's lobby.

I don't know if that many catholics are down with the pope.

Wait, dracula: the masquerade: bloodlines ALREADY had 3d player models, for 3rd person and cutscenes. Convos were 1st person. Did the source engine just not support mirrors? This is why Troika closed
-
I love this show. Great episode. Good job everyone, especially Jake and Nick.
I just thought about it and no Half Life game has any fucking mirrors. I feel so cheated. Deus Ex has mirrors thankfully. Now I'm just thinking about games with mirrors. Deus Ex 1 had mirrors but they had to model the player model for 3rd person conversations already anyway.

Notice how the 4th wall wasn't shown.
Grats on reaching your 2nd goal and adding a new goal!

Religions are totally cults. Or there's a pedantic difference between a cult and a religion, mostly down to number of members?
