  1. I use ps3 controllers in my office (i found a new set of drivers that is much more stable and easy to setup VS the old MotionJoy mess. i can link later if someone is interested)

And the steam controller and an old Xbox360 when on the TV downstairs.  Kind of covers all the bases? i prefer ps over xbox just because i've always a playstaion vs xbox product.  I also dont know if could get a bluetooth dongle into the steamlink and use PS3 controllers at the TV...seems like a little bit of playtest/running up and down stairs not super interested in doing for no reason.

The Steam controller is super neat and really do enjoy playing most games with it.  I haevnt played a twitchy/FPS yet, but been great for platformers and some RPG's i've going through - especially the ones not necessarily setup for full controller support and need to use the touch pad as a mouse cursor.

  2. voted!  super neat, hope works out for you!

those comments, bleh - its clearly a controller game, if you dont play with one shouldnt buy it.

same asshats that would comment on Rocksmith saying - 1 Star, no keyboard support

  3. Being actively positive, but not quite delusional, is a lot of work.  But it is totally worth it - will have a noticeable change in your quality of life. Finding these faults exist and wanting to change is a major start.  Having peers that will help gently point out the negativity also helps

I am highly susceptible to negative and toxic attitudes and nearly lost a job with the prime culprit for attitude.  But fortunately the owner of the company talked to me about approaching and dealing with adversity, etc. and hit home - also helped I was also 21 and he was a 15yr sober who had turned his life around (coke and drinking).  I still have bad days or weeks, but lows are far less and have seen better project rebounds and success without getting down on the BS

Unfortunately now i have two members in my department that are toxic that generally feed each other.  One woman is a "woe is me" attitude, the other guy feels entitled (and has had a major string of bad luck last 2yrs).  dont want to let either go, but really does drag the whole office down; these two are not as open to change as you are.

I wish the best to your new found reflection, drop me a line here or anywhere if want to chat - universally found at "undermind9"

  4. I've never seen a water cooler in an office. Don't you have tap water?

I don't actually know why they have a cooler back there. There is a sink, but maybe the water has a mineral taste.  I do know a lot of people use the hot water for tea and coffee though, so maybe that plays into it.

I work in a light-manufacturing plant though, the front office is ~20 people with another 50 in the shop, in side spoilers is the rack of water that clears out every 1.5 wks in the summer, 2-3wks in cooler weather.

  5. Left over time on the microwave is infuriating, I thought I was the only one. Going into the kitchen after the shop crew has eaten each microwave has anywhere from 1 - 180 seconds left.  I don't understand how someone puts in a dish to the microwave to 5 minutes...and then just pulls it out when they think it is done.  Use the timer, let it expire, and add additional time in small increments if still not warm enough.

Although, maybe I am the monster because I prefer my food re-heated luke-warm.

I dont even want to get riled up thinking about how dirty & inconsiderate people in this office are after using the microwave.  Soup thats bubbled over, cheese gets melted and cooked down to the glass, burnt popcorn, the whole gamut of suck.

As to in-office tooth brushing I bought a massive container of "wisps" from Woot one time as a planned desk & car disposable toothbrush solution.  At the time I was very fond of a local hotdog place and the peppers & onions would make me intolerable.  I didnt like the little dollop of paste and my wife uses from time to time - now i just am intolerable after food; no one should be that close anyways.

  6. i had a really good time in the beta weekend - but depth of play seemed limited; hero loadouts are the same each match and seemingly no plan to add weapon modifiers or a level/rank-up talent tree

It ran surprisingly well on my machine, which is very speedy but with a set of aged cards.  I am still not good at these kinds of games and much more enjoyed the support/tank roles.

If I had a group of friends who all got into it the $40 version for PC would be swallowable...but feels more like a $20 initial investment knowing that in a few months there is going to be paid DLC maps/characters.  If they made an announcement about continued support (akin to diablo) for initial buy-in I would be much more inclined to get at full price and let the additional gameplay added overtime substantiate my view of the value

FPS seems more than any other genre to suffer from fragmented communities with dlc tiers; I noticed first hand in Space Marine crushing available match numbers - but didnt Titanfall also buckle under the weight of tiered buy-ins?

  7. I have also recently gotten into the hots train - I initially was super interested in chogall and that went fine. I am impressed generally how nice (quiet) people are when playing

But gameplay isnt landing, feels clunky and not very deep. Perhaps I need to play more, but how to gain advantage is unclear except by simply playing better/lord matchups - even after double digit kill leads and several forts down the other team was still just as powerful and almost same level.

I've also been playing dota from before all stars - the hots style wasnt something I needed to get into the genre

I'll keep it around for quick games, but won't be spending any money - the in game money accurement is bonkers too. 30g per game? Even with daily quests would be weeks before buying a top price lord

  8. I've been surprised at how quiet Wooly World has been IT and generally internet wide - probably a direct result of being released right around when Danielle left for the other coast.

I think it is a really good platformer, certainly best "yoshi" platformer i've played.  Graphics are super crisp, they went all in on the aesthetic, and each level has several unlocks to find & a mark for beating at full health which adds good replay.

I've had to slow-play the game with my recently changed gaming habits (RE: infant) - but nice to pick up and do a level or two.  I'm on world three and very pleased with the whole experience.

  9. Thank you for the NVidia insight!  Perhaps waiting out another year for the 1k series would be best practice, presumably they arent going to do anything wild and a Z97 mobo with PCI-E 3.0 would be fine.

If you step it down in the same socket (4970K is a LGA1150) at least you could do an upgrade w/o the motherboard replacement.

I went with the i7 4970 you are referencing and have been very pleased with it, i wont have to think about overclocking for a while since I am bottle necked currently on the GPU.

Even so, the bottleneck doesnt affect hardly any of my current PC usage...but watching people play SW Battlefront and FO4 I know I would be on low res/low graphics to keep up

  10. I have nothing constructive to add except that i feel old

I have no idea what new video card tech is called and the hierarchy (the numerical nomenclature has gone bonkers), they ran out of numbers and now are resetting without a clear version control (at least to the uninitiated)

Additionally realize my xfire 6870 HD's were ok, but should have gone whole hog instead of half ass twice (2011 timeframe), but looking at the new video cards (980 ti as listed above or a high end amd) i have no idea how i could talk myself (and wife) into jumping into it.  Also see why people just buy a console for $400 and be done with it for years.

Especially having just upgraded board, cpu, and ram earlier this year (again should have waited for new processor class  :getmecoat )

  11. Somehow I got ringworm and I don't have any bleach.

    Bleach is pretty important.

careful with that, lamasil is generally safer and more effective.  i used to have a prescription strength version when i was in HS athletics and contracted it often from wrestling - be gone in 3 days easy.

I've killed ring worm a few times with bleach and left some nasty marks (fortunately didnt scar)...could have been using rope and sand paper to open the skin/pores too.........

  12. Hah! Or a warning for the unwary. He's literally toothless at the moment, though, so not much to be concerned about.

His real name is Max Fury, which his mother and I think is pretty cool? Destined to be a superhero/villain

very great, congratulations and hope all the best

we had our first bout with sickness today; looks like a mild eye infection / tear duct not draining properly/forming yet.  everyday is something...but it feels more like once have the hang of something the kid changes the rules. best of luck and health
