  1. They're the members of the opposition that "shadow" the government cabinet ministers. i.e. the government (the largest party) has a Minister for Education, so the opposition (the second-largest party) has a Shadow Minister for Education.

Its a good way for a party out of power to have spokesperson on specific issues. So when the government bring out a policy the Shadow Minister can discuss what the opposition would do instead.

  2. Super cool. Where is that?

Its the new 35-W bridge in Minneapolis, built after the last one collapsed. it usually has shifting colors, but after Prince died it was purple and after Orlando they set it to rainbow.

  3. I haven't been using the headset a ton since the weather got nice and I dont like being alone :)

The little bit of Minecraft and Subnautica I have experienced in the Vive has been amazing, there is a level of immersion and wonder to open world games that is just fantastic. I am really excited for more large scale experiences to be brought to VR, Fallout 4 for example.

My favorite experiences have been seeing how easily fooled my brain is. It's amazing how fast it buys into the internal logic of the world. I have moved around car doors that were not real and gave myself a feeling of terror by stepping off an illusionary cliff.

  4. I made a vegetarian egg mcmuffin including making the english muffins from scratch. It turned out pretty well aside from veggie bacon being a lot trickier to cook than regular bacon. My first attempt ended up a little to hard, hopefully the next one turned out well.

RUSSIAN ROBOT ESCAPES LABORATORY, WANDERS INTO STREET

"When you see video of police officers arriving on the scene as a robot blocks traffic, you assume Skynet is involved.

Not so, thankfully, this time. While a Russian robot did "escape" into the street, it was actually just wandering around on its own because someone forgot to lock a gate. The robot, programmed to wander around for a study about independent movement, didn't get very far before its battery died.

We expect it's just the first of many instances of wandering robots to come. The good news is, for now, they're less Skynet, and more stray cat."

  7. I have had performance issues when playing over my Steam Link, but it's fine on my actual computer.

    Elusive target mission report:

Snuck into the gazebo area as Helmut Kruger, but couldn't really find a moment alone with the dude. I attempted to grab a knife, thinking a thrown knife would be less conspicuous than a gunshot, but someone spotted me and freaked out, so I restarted with a sniper rifle hidden in the stairway. I snuck it up to the second floor balcony overlooking the helicopter, but had no good angles on the gazebo - a tree was perfectly placed to block almost all of the party. I eventually managed to get up to the third floor as a Cicada guard and found an almost-empty spot to take the shot from. The nearby guard didn't think aiming with a sniper rifle wasn't suspicious until I took the shot, and before he could do much I was on the way down a gutter. I took a few shots from guards on the ground, but managed to hop in a second story window and walk out the front door without any more trouble.

My score was hot garbage, but I did it.

Is there a way to get up on the actual roof in Paris? I haven't fully explored the attic.

I don't think so, the auction is the highest part as far as i know.

  8. It's just weird because prior to the last few days I was able to run the game at high settings without any real problems, possibly a slight hickup when the mission first starts up, but that's about it... My specs are slightly better than the recommended one.

I have seen reports that some patches cause performance issues, hopefully it will be resolved.

  9. Anyone else have performance issues with the game recently? Within the last few days I'm dropping frame rates like crazy, and even when I change the video settings as low as possible the game is essentially unplayable. Loading missions also takes considerably longer. I tried doing the elusive target yesterday, but it was impossible for me. :-(

Not that I noticed, but I am a good bit past the recommended specs.

  10. I'm kind of with Osmosisch here. If you'd put them side to side, I'm sure Breath of the Wild is actually super better looking, but the feeling I got from the trailer was that this art style is less brilliant than The Wind Waker at the time. Though I'm somewhat excited they're breaking the mould for a Zelda game (as far as we know), I have to wonder if this is going to be all that great. The world doesn't feel very rich and detailed, if you compare it to other open foresty worlds like The Witcher 3 and, heck, No Man's Sky. But, maybe, this is still the Zelda overdose talking. I'll have to see way more to pass any kind of informed judgement.

I think Wind Waker benefits from being more stylized, This new one is a mix of cell shading and high fidelity graphics.

  11. http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/giant-bomb-live-at-e3-2016-day-01/2300-11346/ is the video archive of last night's show.  I think the Square Enix folks are the 3rd set of guests?

Another fun thing from the video is that apparently the clearance rate on the elusive targets has been right around 50%, and the Silent Assassin rate is like 5%.  That really, really makes me want to get SA on an elusive target now.

I feel like part of that is the risk of something going wrong makes people less likely to try for a perfect hit. I am currently 2/2 of the ones I've tried, One went extremely well, the other was almost a disaster.
