Have not gotten the fuel condenser bakelite?

Actually, how high up can you build...?

You can build up pretty high, found this on reddit earlier: https://imgur.com/a/13tup

Started a new game and I had my first little adventure. Took a truck out to collect some researchable items, got lost, ended up killing myself to teleport home. Then drove around in another truck dropping beacons in an attempt to leave bread crumbs for my first truck. I ended up finding my own beacons and going in circles, got annoyed and killed myself again. I might use a space ship to get over to my first truck and try to find the beacons, hopefully I will be able to figure this out :)  Even though I spent two hours driving around doing nothing in particular I still enjoyed seeing all the weird landscapes and navigating the occasionally difficult terrain. If my next attempt to get my truck home fails I think I will set out for the moon.

Uh so this is maybe a dumb question but...I'm pretty far into a Dwarf campaign, have killed all the orcs and chaos (I believe, there might be another army running around in the fog of war to the north), but I don't know how to win? I can't find any listing of victory conditions anywhere, online or in-game. I own the vast majority of the holds I can capture, and have no more quests to do...what am I missing here?

edit: also to make this post current or relevant or whatever....Wood Elves are out? I haven't played them but coworkers have been saying their units are too weak compared to the other races.

double edit: ok I think the only piece I was missing was I needed to clear out the Book of Grudges. But I didn't figure that out until I'd completely annihilated every other faction, so this ended up being an extremely exhausting ~15 hour, 400 turn campaign.

my understanding of the wood elves is that they are weak in melee so require a lot of micromanagement to keep alive. They are sort of glass cannons

CKII is without a doubt my favorite strategy game of all time. The familial politics, the ability to essentially have genetic traits that pass down through your lineage ( I had a cannibalistic, possessed King who managed to take over all of the Holy Roman Empire, his kids weren't much better) just feels amazing. Almost like a medieval soap opera that you can play out, I also find myself truly drawn to the characters themselves. I started a lineage based off an alternative history of the Loxley family (Robin Hood) and when Robins son (Arthur) was killed by his own brother Edward and the family began to turn from noble, charismatic people to a bunch of power hungry maniacs I truly missed Robin and Arthur. And ultimately educated Edwards kids not to be as awful as their father.

Its also a really fun game to discuss in public, I was out with some friends last night and was talking about a game where I had four wives. Three of them would team up to kill my oldest son, then the alliance would shift so one would become the mother of the heir and the previous mother of the heir would plot to kill. I ended up having to throw them all in jail. Other people at our table were a bit confused about what I was talking about.

I'm obviously way behind on this, but I just finished beating Portal for the first time.

My goodness, what a game!  I feel like everything was super polished: the portal mechanic was so engaging, the way the level design taught you through level progression, and even the length seemed perfect.  I hear Portal 2 is much longer, but personally it seemed like 3 hours was an appropriate amount of time.

A weird aside, but the only negative for me with this game is that I frequently found myself feeling dizzy after a little while - I had to break it into one hour chunks in order to finish.  Maybe this has something to do with the direction changing and momentum carry across portals, but I thought it was strange.  A cursory search on Google showed that I'm not the only one that felt this...

Portal 2 is longer because they put more story in. I found 2 to be disappointing because it failed to really build up the puzzle challenge well. They never had you use a bunch of the tools in the same puzzle the way they do in 1. The Coop in Portal 2 is super fun thought!

I won't accept killing this elusive target by any manner other than poisoning, but I'm pretty certain she never eats/drinks anything so it's looking like I'm going to  have to try and peel off some of her guards and see if they get replaced, and if not then try and hit her with a lethal syringe.

She'd be easy by sniping, there are multiple traps in the alleys I've noticed, but all I want is to feed her some rat poison and drown her in a toilet bowl filled with her own vomit and I can't figure how.

I sniped her right through the armpit changed clothes and sprinted to the exit. No idea how the guards spotted me right away. I want to get that Silent Assassin suit!

The video looks really promising. Gaaahhhh! I so wish for a great modern MechWarrior single player game.

Somebody should rescue the old MW games also to GoG etc.

I'd love to play again MW2 after all these years.

I recently tried to install MW4 Mercs on my windows 10 machine and it wouldn't run ;(

I don't really have a lot of faith in PGI, the developers. They've been making MWO this whole time, and MWO is... lackluster in various ways. On the plus side, the art has always been beautiful, so even if it sucks, it'll be a great looking mess. I still remember the time they tried to crowdfund "Transverse," a blatant Star Citizen ripoff, with a $1 million goal and a $2 million stretch goal which would let spaceships fight each other (!).

If it fails hard enough maybe someone else can get the license :)

I hear you on not trusting the dev, my hope comes from it being single player so maybe it won't suffer from the same issues MWO has. There is also that turn based battletech game is coming out, looks pretty interesting. I still prefer piloting my own mech.

  8. I know its almost two years out, but I am super excited. MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries came out in 2002 and I loved it. I still have the joystick and throttle I got to play the game better. I am considering checking out the Living Legends revival now. I want MechWarrior!

In terms of features, all I really care about is being able to lead a lance, or two, and deep customization. The lack of being able to make my own loadouts is what turned me off Mech Assualt 1&2 and MechWarrior Online. Here's hoping this game is good!

Hahaha nah I feel you. Conceptually there's a lot I like about visual novels, but I'm real put off by just READING a GAME nonstop and then making minor choices that lead to MORE READING.

    And I love reading! D:

FWIW, I think a lot of more recent western indie visual novels are shorter, as in 5 hours or less.

Reading in games has kept me from enjoying so many indie titles, I just really don't like reading in games for some reason.

Yes indeed, he's a billionaire failure to the tune of $3.7 billion according to Forbes

Only an idiot could take a good start in life and a loan from his dad and fail so spectacularly

" in 2004, he presented unaudited financials to Deutsche Bank while seeking a loan, claiming he was worth $3.5 billion. The bank concluded Trump was, to say the least, puffing; it put his net worth at $788 million"

I'm not saying he isn't rich, but its not at all clear that he is the reason for his wealth or that he doesn't continually misrepresent it. Before his Casino went belly up he was a serial failed businessman with a rich father backing him, he later started selling his name as a brand and not directly running businesses, this was a far more successful strategy.

" Around the country, buyers were led to believe they were purchasing apartments in buildings overseen by Trump, although his only involvement in many cases was getting paid for the use of his brand. For example, in 2009, Trump and a developer named Jorge Pérez unveiled plans for Trump Hollywood, a 40-story oceanfront condominium that they boasted would sell at premium prices and feature such luxuries as Italian cabinetry. But with the entire real estate market imploding, condo buyers were looking for bargains, and sales were minuscule. In 2010, lenders foreclosed on the $355 million project. Even though Trump’s name was listed on the condominium’s website as the developer, he immediately distanced himself from the project, saying he had only licensed his name."

Only time will tell what the real outcomes will be and whether Trump will be the monster many of you expect him to be

Considering his cabinet appointments I don't think there is much doubt. A climate change denier, a school privatizer, an anti-semite and racist from a conspiracy theory laden website. Those are just off the top of my head.

Yes, the tone and content of the replies sends a very clear message that my perspective is unwelcome in this forum

and I dont want to argue about it

But to your specific question about Trump - I see an extraordinary individual who has created enormous personal success in his life thus far

As a man accustomed to leading and directing large numbers of people he will be a very capable president in practical terms

but what he will actually do when he gets into office, I have no idea

I prefer to wait and see

I will judge him by his actions

He got his start with a multi-million dollar loan from his father, considering how our economy is set up for the rich to succeed, it would take a complete idiot to not still be rich after starting out with $14 million. His business career has mostly been one of failure, he has been most successful as a brand ambassador, he doesn't actually run most of the businesses with his name on them.

  12. Watching the Hitman stream without being able to type in chat is so frustrating :) Nick went past the high octane fuel multiple times during his mass murderer run of Sapienza at night. The streams are a mix of fun and agonizing because of all the mistakes. Perhaps I have just played too much Hitman to be able to watch others do it. I had similar issues watching Xcom streams.

  13. Picked up elite during the steam sale and am worried I made a mistake :/ The UI is really clunky, seems like they loaded it with options that really are not needed, especially for controllers. Why do i need to be able to toggle my ship lights? I feel like the controls only work some of the time, not sure if I just don't understand them or they are more context sensitive than I thought. Targeting seems especially weird.

Also didn't realize there wasn't autopilot, I like flight simulators, not really a fan of finicky fast travel and landing simulators. I will give the game another shot later, but I am pretty disappointed ATM
