    Today I sat down at my desk and up and opened my task list for the day and was struck by the mixture of discomfort and terror of "oh no, I can't believe I had to sort through all these support tickets, what did I break this time." Then I looked at the tickets and saw they were from addresses like "[email protected]" and "[email protected]" from when I had previously submitted a bunch of fake support requests to test the ticketing system.  I had never bothered to delete or close these old tickets, and my chickens had finally come home to roost.  Today, I was most definitely hoist by my own petard.

    Hey guys, I figured this would be as good a place as any to ask: I'm trying to find video of Sean and Jake on stage at the Spike VGA in 2012 receiving the GOTY award for The Walking Dead (season 1).

     

    The closest I've been able to find is this 30-second clip of Sean speaking, which has really muffled audio and doesn't include the preceding moments (where I believe Robert Kirkman was actually the one to initially accept the award), I was hoping to find the full video in better quality.

    Since the show has been on hiatus, I decided to dive into the archives and do a complete re-listen, and damn if Jake and Chris didn't just nail the frustration of working in a creative field:

     

    Jake:   When I read stuff that I wrote when I was younger, I'm actually really mad, because it just shows that my brain has hardened and I'm a worthless piece of shit who can't imagine anything and is not willing to or able to just actually poop an idea out of my brain onto a piece of paper and finish it because I'm actually able to be self-critical.

    Chris:   You're too smart to know that your idea might be bad, but you're not actually smart enough to just have an incredible idea all the time.

    Jake:   Yeah, it's a disaster.

    Chris:   That's bad. Being an adult is terrible. Being an adult who's not a genius just kind of sucks.

     

    Every single word of this is true.
