I'm not sure if this has been linked in any of the other episode threads, but if anybody was looking for the track used as the theme music, you'll find it here:

XCOM is great. Jake Solomon is great. I'm going to enjoy this one a lot. Thanks Steve.
-

I can only assume Jake was taken by robots before he had time to complete the thread title, but he was at least able to hit the "Submit" button in a final defiant act against the machines.
Godspeed Jake.

Woo! I've been looking forward to this.

How is the netcode? Any noticeable latency?
It really depends on distance, as you'd probably expect. That said, I played a few games today against random players from matchmaking and had a pretty smooth experience.
I am absolutely loving what I've played so far. Can't wait to play it with friends the next time we have a meetup. This local multiplayer resurgence we seem to be having lately is making me extremely happy.

Great. This week's robot news made me suddenly laugh while I was eating, causing me to
belch out my semi-chewed food into a gross pile on my lap.
Thanks guys.
-
And now I want this to happen for real.

-
Awesome. I'll have to give this a try.

This game is half price on steam until November 1st. If you haven't tried the game yet and all of the chatter on this thread and on the cast has your interest piqued, now would be a good time to give it a shot.

-
Hmm, I'm just going to put this here, in honour of this strange and Nick filled episode.
My goodness. More please.

This episode was great, a real joy to listen to. It was the highlight in my otherwise crummy day, so thank you.

Cool, how exciting. The Thumb empire grows.

The convergence of play styles is definitely interesting, when I watched the most recent video that was up this morning Tom mentioned some sort of vine climb trick. Any idea what that is referring to?
He was talking about Jason Killingsworth, so my guess would be that he was referring to this:
That fan art is appropriate for the daily challenge from this weekend where all the shopkeepers in the black market went ballistic (still not totally clear why). That was a good day of Spelunkying.
I think a red frog may have exploded in a shop. I almost survived that level.

-
Speaking of Tom Francis, he recently set up the new Spelunky Explorers Club (formerly here) for the compilation of daily challenge runs. My favourites to watch so far have been Tom Francis and Anthony Burch. It's interesting to see how their polite rivalry plays out, to the point where they're now starting to influence each others playstyles.

The Steam version is going to have daily challenge levels that are the same for everyone and you get one life.

SWEET!
I'm buying it for this feature. That sounds like a blast.
Oh man, This is what I crave. Cannot wait.

This error message ruined my day.
But other than that, I had great fun with you guys.GG guys. GG.

It seems like there are other types of persistent progress besides shortcuts; little art asset additions that make you feel like you have ran into some stuff in your many attempts.
Oh yeah, you're right about that. The same goes for the journal entries and unlockable characters (The characters are entirely cosmetic).
-
PC version is out in August!
edit: Also, can someone confirm that this game has absolutely no Rogue Legacy-like progress between attempts? Once you die, you're back to zero?
Yeah, can confirm that the progress slate is cleaned after every death. Apart from any shortcuts you may have unlocked, they do persist (but in many ways it's actually harder to complete the game if you use them).

Cannot wait for August to arrive. I can finally retire my Xbox 360, since this was the only game I owned for it.

I showed off this video game at Rezzed this weekend. It was super well received, even by people who had no idea of its existence prior to seeing the booth. Hooray!
You guys did a fine job. I saw a ton of people excited for this game too which is great.
-
For anyone who wants to watch the Vanaman/Molyneux talk in full, here it is.
-
I lost my marbles in excitement when I saw this earlier today. More Fez is great news. More Disasterpeace is even better news.
Consider me hyped.
-
I totally forgot. Who does it 4 days before actual E3 anyway? It's their own fault!
Youtube link, for those who want it:

Edit: Does anyone know how to embed youtube links on this forum? I'm new here.

Edit 2: Thanks TheLastBaron!

Awesome! Before I start to listen to this I'd just like to commend the person who wrote the description text for this week's cast. Upon getting the reference, it made me laugh and inadvertently spill my drink all over my desk.

You know, it took me a long time to realise that those two add-ons have clever names
I know right? When I finally realised, it was like figuring out the joke behind "Miles Prower" all over again.

Upon listening to the cast on my phone and then re-reading the cast title on the site homepage, I was confused when I saw that the title was different from what was shown on my phone. At first I assumed it was a typo, but now I realise there is only one explanation.
I must be somehow subscribed to the shadow podcast feed as mentioned in the intro of episode 129 and I must have been receiving hidden Phaedrus messages for months without knowing.
