Episode 311 is coming up, better get ready to release that secret file:
I'll be sending a reminder email to make sure it happens.

I can't believe Chris said the word "foghorn" two times in relation to chickens and never once said "leghorn."
-
I'm weirdly happy that Chris vocalized the observation I've had that basically anyone can say "Here in [non-Muslim-majority nation], we really like our booze."
-
I think audio is what most people associate with it, but some sources seem to imply that visual stimuli can be the primary trigger.
-
So does Chris not know what ASMR is, or does he just not think that's what happened with Catacombs of Solaris?
-
Don't worry about the Switch, even the WiiU has actual profiles that you friend.
There's still strides to be made in their online/profile infrastructure, but we're past friend codes at least.

Man, giantrobot.club is a blast from my webcomic-reading high school past. I read Adventurers! back in 2000. I am strangely happy webrunner is an Idle Thumbs listener.

My wife was super amused by your discussion of her Liara-bashing. A little follow-up/explanation:
She actually didn't care much for Kaiden or Ashley either, but tolerated their presence and spared Ashley simply because her abilities complemented her own.
She actually hated Liara mostly because of her scientific approach. Since she's a scientist herself, she simply could not abide Liara's shoddy methodology. It was a grudge that lasted two-thirds of the series.
Also she shacked up with Garrus, because obviously.

Stay tuned for the YouTube version tonight.
Whoops, there were a bunch of typos and I had to re-export the video. It'll have to be Friday morning.

Link's awakening also had a jump button via the Roc's Feather item.
Also, as far as the depiction of technology in Zelda goes, if you make it far enough into Twilight Princess it starts to be heavily hinted at that the magic used by the Twili (the race Midna and Zant are) is probably technology. It's not as blatant as what's been shown in Breath of the Wild. It's actually cool in the sense that it's sort of depicted in such a way medieval people would depict technology they didn't understand. Stuff that you would find on an old tapestry and then some History Channel motherfucker would point at it and go "This is obviously alien technology."
How many Slyboots were said? I lost count
Stay tuned for the YouTube version tonight.

Hot Goldblum on Goldblum action:
-
Blondie, Freckles, and Glasses
1oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
1oz citrus vodka
2oz fresh squeezed orange juice (I use cara cara)
2oz Aperol
Shake and strain into a highball glass over ice with a mint leaf garnish
Quite drinkable.
-
This is a drink I've made for myself for years, but I never came up with a satisfactory name for it.
Drinkable, or at least I drink it a lot.
Edit: Okay, so apparently piña is automatically censored on this forum? I guess? -
And then the most recent episode had some

Yeah Chris, don't think you sneaked your little Crossfire commercial pull past us.
Fuck, I have a visceral reaction to the Crossfire commercial theme song. It's been stuck in my head non-stop for over twenty years without interruption. Goddamn that song.

So looking into the Yakuza games it seems like the perfect game for me right now. I got back from a trip to Japan about a month ago, and the idea of playing a game in an open world Tokyo environment doing mundane things/attacking people by swinging a couch at them is super enticing. For a newcomer what's a good entry point into the series? 5 sounds good, but I guess there is also Yakuza 0 for the PS4 which I guess I could pick up whenever I get that system?
Yakuza 5 would be a good place to start since it's sort of the culmination of Yakuza up to that point with a lot of playable characters and minigames and stuff like that. However, if you want to walk around virtual Tokyo, that game doesn't even get there until the Final Chapter. At least that's my understanding. That's a bonus for me though, since all I want to do is hang out in Virtual Osaka and drink product placement whiskey.
If you just want to hang out in Virtual Tokyo, Yakuza 4 might be all you need. It lets you off the leash to explore Fake Kabukicho pretty early on.
Yakuza 0 looks fun. It's set in 1988, and Japan in the late 80s is a trip and a half, but a lot of stuff is probably lost on us Americans.
One final note about Yakuza 5: the first three things you are tasked with doing at the start of this game are
1) Buy and deliver a gift for an apology
2) Transfer money to an orphanage
3) Beat up some hoodlums

Mister Neighbor's real name might be Fred Rogers, but more importantly his real name is Fred McFeely Rogers meaning he named the second primary character of his eponymous television show after himself.
Or after his mom, or whatever.

Why this episode isn't called Cliffy B's Boss Key I'll never know.

Piranhas From Above: 85D0-0000-001C-BD05
Underground level requiring some careful low jumps
Ghost House Party: BC3C-0000-0026-8318
Simple ghost house with not much misdirection.
Halloumi Hills: DE58-0000-003B81B6
A long level with lots of sustained jumping. I suggest holding the run button down.
Falty Footing Fortress: A1C4-0000-006A-AD6B
Maybe the difficulty on this is cheap, but I give the player multiple chances by removing bottomless pits.
Bowser Ruins a Boat Trip: A96D-0000-0082-E9E4
Is it just me, or are pipes slow to spawn enemies? Anyway, this one has a mild story suggested.

This is just a notice that Captain Zoom is still in business and selling MP3s.

So is it up to me or Derek Lieu to edit together an episode of AI-dle Thumbs?

See, I think Steven Universe is one of the absolute best examples of how to do this right. It's backstory and surrounding world are layered in piece by piece, always in a way that makes sense and always in service of developing the characters and their motivations. It's never necessary to delve too deep into it to understand what's going on, but it's also clearly very well thought through and not just slapped in at the last minute. That's my favourite part about the show. Without that it's just mindless anecdotes.
How does a person actually watch Steven Universe anyway?
That is, what streaming service is it on?
