You'd think if you want a free copy of a game, you could find one without bothering people on random message boards.

Would screenshots be considered free Doom 2 downloads? Cause I know where you can find plenty of those.

You won't find a free download of the full game. There should be a shareware version available though. But really, you can probably find the full thing almost anywhere online or offline for about $10.

hasn't doom 2 been released under the developers license thingy so basically you can download the sourcecode from id software?

I think so, ID Software usually releases the source code for all of its games after they have been around for a while.

You can buy the first 3 doom games (Doom 1,2 and Final Doom) at Walmart for $10.

If you can't find doom 2 for free on your own, you should probably just buy it direct from the developer (http://www.idsoftware.com/games/doom/doom2/index.php?game_section=buy). It would make you awesome instead of lame.
